REASI, Aug 11: Kreeda Bharati Reasi and Hockey Reasi will jointly celebrate National Sports Day on August 29 at a prominent educational institution in the district, honouring hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand.
In a meeting chaired by Shiv Kumar Sharma, President Kreeda Bharati J&K, the organisations discussed promoting hockey and other sports in Reasi. A key highlight of the event will be the Jijabai Award presentation to the mother of Hritik Sharma, who recently won a silver medal at the World University Archery Games in Germany.
Sanjeev Sharma, Secretary Kreeda Bharati Reasi, emphasized encouraging young women in wrestling. The meeting was attended by officials from both bodies, including Romesh Chander Sharma, Atul Sharma, and Gopal Sharma. The event aims to foster sports culture and identify new opportunities for youth engagement in the district.
Prominent persons present on the occasion were Romesh Chander Sharma, Atul Sharma, Babu Ram Sharma, Raman Goswami, Rattan Chand, Vimal Sharma, Rumal Singh, Gopal Sharma and Shivani Jamwal.
