JAMMU, Jan 19: A meeting of the General Council of the Kashmiri Pandit Sabha (KPS) Jammu was held here, today. The meeting was chaired by K. K. Khosa, president of the Sabha. A large number of members participated in the meeting. The audited accounts for the financial year 2024-2025 were approved by the house in the meeting.
The other items on the agenda viz. some amendments to the Constitution for making the Sabha more vibrant in it’s functioning were also passed by the General Council. The members appreciated the role played by the Sabha in trying to mitigate sufferings of the downtrodden section of Kashmiri Pandits during the past many years and resolved to work relentlessly to strengthen the Sabha so that it would continue with its mission of rendering selfless service for the Pandits.
A resolution was passed unanimously urging the Government to engage with the representatives of the community and frame a robust return and rehabilitation policy for the displaced Kashmiri Pandits urgently. This is essential for safeguarding the cultural identity of the minuscule community which is facing an existential threat today due to its unfortunate displacement from the land of it’s forefathers for the past thirty-six years of its exile.
