JAMMU, Apr 7: Kashmiri Pandits have appealed the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah who is on J&K’s tour to solve the long pending permanent rehabilitation issue of the exiled Pandits who are the victims of cross border terrorism.
In a statement issued here today they said the exiled Pandits are living still in deplorable and pathetic condition in various camps in Jammu and other parts of the country with this hope that one day their rehabilitation in Kashmir with honour and dignity will be made possible by the present Central Government for which they are eagerly waiting.
The socio-political activists of the community including M K Yogi, Vinod Pandita and Sanjay Dhar have appealed Union Home Minister, Amit Shah and Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha to take a humanitarian view on the miserable plight of Kashmiri Pandits and their pertinent issues like their rehabilitation back in Valley with honour and dignity in a time bound period, enhancement of meager monthly relief assistance from Rupees 13000/ to 25000 per month, announcement of special permanent employment package for educated KP Youth to tackle their rising unemployment, doling out of left out compensation to the gutted and damaged properties of Kashmiri Pandits in Valley, and construction of adequate residential quarters for migrants living on rents in Jammu.
Pandita also appealed Home Minister and Lt. Governor J&K to reactivate the migrant grievance portal forthwith with implementation of immovable migrant property act 1997 in letter and spirit.
