KPs celebrate Sharika Jayanti with religious fervour

JAMMU, July 4: Kashmiri Pandit (KP) community across Jammu and Kashmir celebrated Sharika Jayanti with religious fervor today.
The sacred occasion of Sharika Jayanti was celebrated with immense spiritual fervor at both Hari Parbat Chakreshwari (Srinagar) and Shree Sharika Temple, Paloura Doke (Jammu) under the banner of Shree Shree Jagat Amba Sharika Chakreshwar Sanstha Trust, Hari Parbat, Jammu and Srinagar. The annual Hawan was performed to seek the blessings of Mata Sharika. Throughout the day, over 4000 devotees visited the shrines to have darshan of Mata Sharika at both Srinagar and Jammu. At Jammu shrine, the event was held under the leadership of Makhan Lal Thusoo, president of the Trust.
Kashmiri Sahayak Samiti (KSS) Jammu celebrated annual Har Navam as birthday of Mata Sharika, a religious deity of KPs, with spiritual enthusiasm at Mata Sharika Bhawan, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. Hundreds of devotes chanting mantras and vedic shlokas throng the sanctum sanctorum of Mata Sharika to perform their traditional Pooja conducted by learned scholar, B N Sadhu. This religious function was graced by the presence of KSS president Suriender Munshi and general secretary Dr Daleep Pandita.
To mark the occasion, a function was organized at Sharika Peeth Sanstha “Koshur Bhawan”, Subhash Nagar (Jammu), wherein a large number of devotees participated under the chairmanship of Sanstha president MK Jalali. Pushp Archana and Aarti were performed on the occasion with great devotion and special prayers were held for welfare and unity of Hindu community.
