JAMMU, Dec 15: Kashmiri Pandits have demanded nomination of two community members as members of UT Assembly as was proposed in UT Reorganization Act.
In a joint statement issued here, today by socio political activists Vinod Pandita and Sanjay Dhar demanded all hurdles in this regard be removed and the community be given representation in the Assembly an initiative taken by Modi Government for the empowerment of the community.
Both the leaders appealed Government of India to facilitate the nomination process of two MLAs of Kashmiri Pandits at the earliest so that their political participation in the Assembly is ensured for raising and addressing the genuine problems of displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
They also appealed Government of India to launch a special recruitment drive in camps and non camps for educated unemployed displaced youth as the unemployment is on rise in the community.
