KPC Seeks re-verification in allotment list of Jagti

JAMMU, July 29: The  Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) today warned to come on roads against the failure of Government in redressing the long pending demands of the community.
It alleged that State Government and Revenue  and Relief authorities have created immense confusion and chaos among the KP community in the matter of allotment to Jagti township as recently released list of  allottees by the Relief organisation  is totally irrational and without proper verification which caused tremendous inconvenience for  the original and genuine families who  are suffering a lot  due to callousness of State Government.
Kundan Kashmiri national president of the KPC seeks monetary and injunctive relief towards the KP community and said that genuine families can not devote long times standing in queues further any more. He further said that the pattern or practice of discrimination with community people could not be tolerated at any cost and appealed the State Government to take necessary action and re-verify the allotments, so that genuine families who were being ignored will get justice.
He revealed that nobody is going through happenings of Kashmiri Pandits have suffered a lot since about last more than two decades.
Kashmiri  said as the number of quarters at Jagti is insufficient and the 15000 applicants who had applied for allotment of quarters under various categories can’t be accommodated the Government should take necessary steps by renovating the migrant quarters at Purkhoo to accommodate these families.
Meanwhile the Migrant Camp Coordination Committee Chairman Desh Rattan said that in view shortage of quarters at Jagti township hundreds of genuine families have been deprived and Government should take steps for accommodating them also by giving a face lift to old quarters at Purkhoo camp.
