NEW DELHI, Apr 22: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) president Kundan Kashmiri has appealed the displaced Pandits to vote in favour of nationalist forces for three Valley seats.
In a statement issued here, today Mr Kashmiri expressed concern over the failure of Government as well as Election Commission of India to make the process of polling smooth for Kashmiri migrants. He said the cumbersome process of voting for migrants has forced the majority members of the displaced people to disassociate from the process and they did not fill up the M Forms.
He said despite the repeated pleas to GoI as well as ECI over the years they failed to look into the problem to ensure that every migrant can cast his vote. He said there are apprehensions of rigging in prevailing procedure also.
Kashmiri said that the so called secular parties were responsible for the plight of migrants and their forced exile. He appealed the Pandits to reject such parties who except shedding the crocodile tears did nothing in practical for the community which is leading an exiled life for last 25 years now. He also alleged that maximum Pandit voters have not been enrolled by the authorities despite completion of all formalities by them.
Meawnhile social activist and ex-Sarpanch Nana Ji has also appealed the displaced Pandits to cast their vote in the ensuing elections and strengthen the democratic process in the State.
