JAMMU, June 17: Glowing tribute were paid to former president All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference, (ASKPC)a veteran KP leader and RSS ideologue , Hira Lal Chatta on his 11th death anniversary here, today.
In this connection a function was organised by Amarbalidan Trust under the chairmanship of senior KP leader Moti Lal Malla at Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra Anand Nagar Bohri.
The event was attended by large number of community members, dignitaries, and well-wishers, who gathered to pay rich and heartfelt tribute to the departed leader and recalled his services to community and Sanatan Dharma.
The programme began with the recitation of a shloka from the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita by P.K. Raina, setting a spiritual and reflective tone. This was followed by paying floral tribute to departed soul.
A.K. Raina,President of Amar Balidan Trust, delivered an insightful address, recounting the foundation and mission of the Trust. He highlighted the pioneering roles of Amar Nath Vaishnavi , former president ASKPC and father of community and Hira Lal Chatta and Moti Lal Malla in its establishment, with the vision of serving displaced and underprivileged members of the Kashmiri Pandit community. He hailed Late Chatta as the most dedicated leader of the KP community after Vaishnavi.
Bhushan Lal Saraf (Retd) Principal District and Sessions Judge remembered Chatta as a man of simplicity and selflessness, wholly committed to the upliftment of his community. He urged unity to confront contemporary challenges.
Swami Kumar paid glowing tribute, describing Chatta as a towering figure in the community. He emphasized the need to revive ASKPC (All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference) and encourage new leadership inspired by the ideals of Vaishnavi and Chatta.
Sundari Lal Koul remembered Chatta as a bold and helpful leader.Ashok Koul Organizing Secretary of BJP (J&K UT), shared personal reflections on his long association with both Vaishnavi and Chatta especially during the 1990 migration.
Ashok Koul stressed the importance of rebuilding, reshaping, and rejuvenating ASKPC. He stated that following the teachings of Late Hira Lal Chatta in both letter and spirit would be the most fitting tribute to his legacy.Moti Lal Malla, in his address, recalled Chatta as a tireless and devoted worker whose life was a shining example of service and sacrifice.
A proposal was made during the event to permanently display a photograph of Late Hira Lal Chatta in the main hall of Sanjeevani Sharada Kendra, alongside portraits of other revered saints and community leaders. The programme,was conducted by P.K. Raina. The formal Vote of Thanks was presented by Hira Lal Bhat. Ajay Bharti graced the occasion as the guest of honour.
