JAMMU, Apr 25: A delegation of Kashmiri Pandits, including senior KP leader M.K. Yogi, Rakesh Koul, Bal Krishan Bhat, Vishal Jotishi, Ashwani Bhat, Shuban Raina, Rajesh Labroo and Sanjay Raina visited various migrant zones where ration coupons for the year 2025-26 were being distributed to eligible families.
During the visit, the delegation observed a large crowd, including elderly persons and women, standing in long queues for the collection of ration coupons. It was further noted that due to a shortage of staff, particularly drawing and disbursing officers, the manual process of distributing ration coupons was causing significant delays.
Taking serious note of these issues, Yogi, along with other members, later called on the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, Dr Arvind Karwani and discussed the issue. The RRC assured the delegation that the necessary steps will be taken to streamline the process and ease the difficulties being faced by the migrant community.
The RRC said there is no need to panic regarding the last date for the collection of ration coupons. All eligible families will be provided coupons up to 30th April 2025. Furthermore, for any families who are unable to collect by this date, additional dates will be announced shortly to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left out.
