NEW DELHI, May 19: Kashmiri Pandit delegation met the Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta today at her residence in Shalamar Bagh, here.
The delegation was led by Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, senior BJP & KP leader-author, columnist & human rights defender. The other members of the delegation included Sushil Hashia, President-JKIDWS, K.K.Bhujoo, President-Vitasta Kashmir Desk, Vinod Saraf, Deepak Handoo and Omesh Ganjoo.
The delegation apprised the CM about the long-pending issue of the disbursement of relief to the relief holders in Delhi-NCR which was disrupted due to some administrative issues. The Chief Minister assured the delegation that the concerns that have been raised by the delegation would be resolved as soon as possible and on-spot instructed the officers in this regard.
The Kashmiri Pandit community activists have been agitating over this issue for the last almost a year when the relief was stopped by the AAP Government led by Arvind Kejriwal. Thousands of families are suffering due to the wrong decisions of the administration taken during the earlier regime. The new dispensation under BJP in Delhi has made promises to the displaced community from Kashmir that their issues would be addressed to the satisfaction of the agitating community members.
On the basis of the assurances given by the Chief Minister, Cabinet Ministers and the important higher-ups in the administration, the organisers have decided to convene a programme on 25th May 2025 in New Delhi in which Ashish Sood, Home and Education Minister will be the chief guest. All eyes are now fixed upon the Government’s action after today’s assurances given by the Chief Minister Rekha Gupta herself.
