REASI, Aug 12: The Kousar Nag Yatra 2025 here today concluded successfully.
The pilgrimage route from Reasi to Gorvan and up to Kounsar Gali falls in district Reasi while the stretch from Kounsar Gali to Kounsar Lake lies in the jurisdiction of district Kulgam.
The Yatra commenced from Shiv Mandir Reasi on August 7, 2025 with pilgrims travelling 99 km by road to Sungri camp where they halted for the night. On second day, they proceeded 26 km by road to Sarsote camp and then 11 km on foot to Sari camp where they stayed overnight.
On third day, the Yatris embarked early from Sari Camp on a 17 km trek to the sacred Kounsar Nag Lake. After offering prayers and receiving blessings at the holy site, they returned on foot to Sari Camp for another night halt.
The return journey began on the fourth day with 11 km trek back to Sarsote Camp followed by a 125 km road journey to Reasi, thus completing the four day long pilgrimage.
Reasi district administration, local police, Army and security forces along with volunteers ensured safe and smooth pilgrimage.
