Koul rejects Mufti’s call of humanitarian review for Malik

Srinagar, Sept 20: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary (org) Ashok Koul today said the law will take its course in the case of separatist Yasin Malik, rejecting PDP President Mehbooba Mufti’s call for a humanitarian review.
“One of her (Mufti’s) own family members testified against Malik. The law will take its course, it cannot be stopped. There is no justification for seeking a humanitarian review,” Koul told reporters in Kulgam.
He said such “stories” expose the “reality” of political leaders and will continue to surface in Kashmir.
“The truth about these leaders is coming out. More disclosures will follow, and it will become clear who was responsible for the terrorism of the 1980s and 1990s,” he said.
“Every section-be it the administration, judiciary, or those in Government offices-was involved. Slowly, the truth is emerging.”
Koul also criticized UPA Government for using Malik in diplomatic outreach, saying they should have known “who to use and who not to.”
“The UPA used Yasin Malik in diplomacy. We will not question why that was done-it may have been required at that time. But leadership is about deciding whom to rely on,” he said.
He recalled that former Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao once needed to send a representative to the United Nations and chose Atal Bihari Vajpayee from the opposition.
