Kontwara neglected, sans road connectivity: Sena leader

KISHTWAR, Sept 29: Tilak Shan Shiv Sena (Bal Thakeray) leader today expressed concern over constant neglect of Kontwara area of Kishtwar district which sans total road connectivity.
In a statement issued here, today he said this area being just opposite of Kishtwar town has been totally ignored by respective governments of erstwhile State of J&K. Even today there is no road connectivity to this area and if road would have been constructed the distance from Kishtwar to Kuntwara is of just of 29 kilometers. The on foot terrain is very tough to reach different villages of this area, he added.
He said people of the area are facing lot of difficulties to reach other areas in emergency conditions.
Due to non connectivity of road to this area there is no proper development with the result the people are facing miserable life. Even the development and public welfare schemes are not implemented on ground in this belt, he added.
He said the Kuntwara area is very vast and its boundary touches district Doda also. This area has so many beautiful places with scenic beauty and calm environment with lush green forests and it is really a paradise on earth. But unfortunately this area has met injustice over the years.
In an appeal to Chief Minister, Omer Abdulla he sought his immediate intervention in the matter. He said why after over 75 years of independence this belt is still without road connectivity.
