Knee replacement surgery performed at Gandhi Nagar Hospital

JAMMU, Apr 22: Total knee replacement surgery of a woman under Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY (Sehat) scheme was performed at Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar, here.
The surgery was performed by Dr Kanav Padha, Constultant Orthopaedic Surgeon of the hospital with latest technique, minimum blood loss and incision. “Although, Dr Kanav has been performed various surgeries in the hospital, but it was the first total knee replacement surgery performed under the scheme since the hospital was de-notified from COVID-19 dedicated hospital,” said administrator of the hospital.
“The 60 years old female was suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis with severe arthritis in both the knees for the last more than 15 years. She underwent various types of treatments including knee joint injections but to no avail,” said administrator said, and adding that owing to advanced nature of the arthritis, she was advised for total knee replacement surgery by the Doctor Padha.
Now, the patient is totally pain free and fully satisfied with the outcome of the surgery. The surgery was assisted by Anaesthesiologist Dr Sangeeta and her team, whereas OT support was given by Jasvinder and Rakesh Bakshi along with Sudesh, Gulzari and Anita and document was processed by Sunny.
