JAMMU, May 24: A deputation of Kissan Union Association of Jammu province today met former Minister and senior PCC leader Sham Lal Sharma and requested him to project issues of the farmers through Congress MLAs during Assembly session.
During the meeting, they brought out to the notice of Sharma that in the budget speech Finance Minister has said that 50% refund will be given up to the ceiling of one lakh to the farmers who are in possession of Kissan Credit Card but it is pained to see that no decision has yet been taken on this issue as a result farmers are facing great hardships.
They further informed that compensation of Rabi crop for year 2015 has already been distributed by the States to their farmers but in our state it has not been yet distributed. The farmers further said that if the State and Central Govt failed to look after the interests of farmers, they will be compelled to go on state wide agitation.
The Congress leader assured the farmers to project their issues during coming Assembly session.
