JAMMU, June 11: In an endeavor to facilitate the growers for a better return of their produce and to decongest the notified yards and the main market yard, Direct Farmers Market was inaugurated by Councillor Sainik Colony Sector E, Jammu Narinder Singh in the presence of Joint Director Horticulture Planning & Marketing Digvijay Gupta along with Chief Agriculture Officer Farooq Ahmed Bhatt today under the guidance of Imam Din, Director Horticulture Planning & Marketing.
Also present on the occasion were Priya Parihar, Area Marketing Officer, S.r. Sangra, AGMO Bishnah, and the officers from Agriculture Department.
Narinder Singh assured cooperation to the growers coming from Bishnah and adjoining areas and thanked the Department of Horticulture Planning & Marketing for providing the farm fresh vegetables and fruits at their door steps.
The growers assured the residents of Sainik Colony that they will sell Farm Fresh and Organic vegetables besides Honey and Haldi etc. The Officers/ Officials of the Department of Horticulture (Planning & Marketing) also distributed the sanitizers/ masks to the farmers selling their produce.
This initiative was taken on the instructions of the Principal Secretary Naveen K Choudhary as per the Government orders.
