JAMMU, July 30: J&K Kissan Council has urged the Advisor to Governor, Farooq Khan to take all possible measures to promote the organic farming in the State.
In a meeting here, today, Tajinder Singh, president of J&K Kissan Council urged Farooq Khan to exhort upon the Agriculture Department to make all possible efforts in doubling the farmers’ income in the State. He requested the Advisor to fully implement the Central sponsored schemes equally in the three regions of the State with sprit and for mitigating unemployment in State. He asked the Advisor to focus on Zero Budget Farming, as Union Government announced in recent budget focus on main grain market in Jammu as time and again farmers suffer due to lack of grain market in Jammu and he demanded streamline the Agriculture and its allied departments in the State.
He emphasized that services under these departments should be brought under the Public Services Guarantee Act so that the farmers would get trouble frees services.
Singh said the Government has launched several Central sponsored schemes but it’s only possible when these schemes have been fully implemented in the State to achieve the target of doubling farmers’ income.
