Kishtwar is as beautiful as Kashmir but for reasons known to the concerned authorities, it has remained untapped so far. Kishtwar landscape is dotted with many mesmerizing spots which can be termed as tourist’s delight. The only thing that remains a constant worry is that there is no policy with regard to their development.
Besides, no infrastructure exists in the part of the State which may lure tourists from different parts of the world. In order to promote tourism, there is urgent need to identify places which may emerge as favourite destinations. Then these places should be given wide publicity through print and electronic media.
Police posts need to be created in and around these spots to provide security to the tourists. The road network which is quite essential for promoting tourism should be given priority. Unless these steps are taken, there is no chance that Kishtwar may emerge as favourite tourist spot.
