RAJOURI, May 10: The police recovered a girl allegedly kidnapped by a youth from Thana Mandi area of Rajouri from court premises in Poonch town today.
The action was taken after the intervention of DIG Rajouri-Poonch. The police party from Thanna Mandi came to know that girl was being taken to Poonch by boy’s relative Ballu Sarpanch and the cops arrested the youth namely, Irfan, son of Mohd Iqbal of Gursai in Mendhar. The minor girl Fozia Kouser (16) was recovered. Sarpanch however, managed to escape. The police was looking for him. The parents and relatives of the girl was kidnapped from Girjan Dhok on May 1 by the youth and his relatives. An FIR was lodged on May 2 but police failed to recover the girl despite the fact that a party had gone to the house of Sarpanch yesterday but returned empty handed.
A case FIR No. 59/2013 has been registered in this connection.
