DODA, Jan 18: Police here today recovered a kidnapped girl from Punjab and handed over to her legal heirs.
Police sources informed that on February 8, 2021, a report was lodged at Women Police Station Doda by one Mohd Saleem, son of Mohd Issa, resident of Shingni, Tehsil Gandoh regarding kidnapping of his sister by some unknown kidnapper from Shingni area.
In this regard an FIR with number 10/2021 U/S 363 IPC was registered at Women Police Station Doda.
In the year 2022, investigation of the case was transferred to Police Station Gandoh and during investigation, Police recorded statements of some relatives and other suspects.
On directions of SSP Doda, a team of cops under the supervision of SDPO Gandoh and SHO Police Station Gandoh led by ASI Abdul Shakoor was constituted. During investigation the team found that the girl was somewhere in Punjab and zeroed her at Bhogpur area of Punjab.
The special team went to Punjab and brought the girl back to Doda.
After the legal proceedings she was handed over to her legal heirs.
Investigation of the case was going on.
