Kichloo directs Police to curb burglaries

JAMMU, July 17: Minister of State for Home, Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo while sharing concern over reports of frequent burglaries and increased crime in Kathua, Samba and Jammu districts, today directed the J&K Police to intensify night-patrolling and ensure adequate deployment of police personnel so that people feel safe and secure.
Talking to deputations from these districts, which called on him to express their concern about increase in theft and other crimes here today, Mr. Kichloo asked the concerned District Police officers to take stern action for curbing activities of anti-social elements.
The Minister also called for maintenance of law-and-order, prevention of crime and adequate attention to public grievances with focus on strengthening police-public rapport. He said reports about increase in burglaries in Jammu division are a cause of concern and need to be checked effectively. “We must instill a sense of confidence and security among the people to the best of their satisfaction,” he added.
