KISHTWAR, Nov 21: Former minister and National Conference MLC Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo today conducted the tour of far flung areas of Nagseni block including remote Cherji, Kwar, Lower Nagra, Argi,Tangi, Lower Dool and took the stock of people sufferings.
During the visit, the poor villagers complaint about shortage of ration due to implementation of Food Security Act. Many people complained that name of several BPL families are missing from the BPL list and the ration cards issued to them are APL category. Majority of the people living in these villages are Schedule Tribe and Schedule Caste and the people rued that various beneficial schemes meant for SC/ST category are nowhere seen on the ground. The people also complained about the harassment from Forest officials added that they are unnecessary being harassed on the name of Forest land.
They told MLC that several people were not paid MGNREGA wages and the works on new plan were yet to begin despite the fact that limited season was left out for the year 2016-17. They added that the department has yet to clear the previous financial year payments to job card holders. They said that due to continues drought in the district, the farmers are suffered badly. They also rued the non-execution of work on Cherji road.
While addressing the public at several places, Sajjad Kichloo slammed the Government for ignoring the Nagseni area and said that the developmental projects started by the National Conference Government were left half way after the new PDP-BJP Govt was formed in the State. He said that officials and the ruling party turned blind eye towards the suffering of the poor people and added that Gujjar, Bakerwals and Schedule Caste community are the victims of poor Government policies. He also demanded compensation for the drought affected farmers.
Among those who accompanied Kichloo included Ch Mehrajdin, Ch Mohammad Yousuf, Ch Mam Din, Noor Mohammad and Qasam Din.
