JAMMU, Jan 9: Demanding transfer of electricity bill collection service to Khidmat Centres, J&K CSC Association took out a candle light march here today.
Hundreds of Khidmat Centre Owners (VLEs) under the banner of J&K CSC Association took out candle march on the third day of their protest from Divisional Commissioner’s Office to Press Club.
The protestors took out candle light march against the Government and other agencies involved in E-governance project launched in 2009.
Speaking on the occasion, president of the Association said that administration has totally failed to implement this Centrally sponsored project in the State.
The Project was aimed to eradicate corruption in the State at gross root level and also designed to provide self employment to thousands of youth, he added.
He added that till date Government has totally failed to implement this project and also failed to fulfill the promises made with them.
Our business is running in loss and we are not able to pay our rents and other dues, he added.
Besides, transfer of electricity bill collection service to Khidmat Centres, he also demanded disbursement of GAP support with retrospective effect as promised by the Government and availability of other potential projects for customer services at Khidmat Centres.
He said that they will continue their protest, till the Government fulfills their genuine demands.
