RAJOURI, Jan 22: The inhabitants of Kheora area, located near Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri, on Thursday staged a protest demanding restoration of their common access through a path, which has reportedly been affected due to the ongoing construction of a Sarai for attendants of patients at GMC Rajouri.
The protesting residents alleged that the existing pathway, which serves as a vital access for several families, is being blocked due to the construction work fo the Sarai. This, they said, has caused serious inconvenience to locals, particularly elderly persons, women, and school-going children.
The residents demanded that the authorities provide pathway of at least 15 feet width to ensure smooth movement and prevent hardship to the local population. They emphasized that while they welcome the construction of facilities for GMC attendants, it should not come at the cost of depriving residents of their basic access rights.
Appealing to the district administration and concerned GMC authorities, the protesters sought immediate intervention to resolve the issue in a fair and amicable manner.
