KHC organises public lecture on role of Budgami

JAMMU, Aug 2: A public lecture on the role and contribution of P L Koul Budgami a veteran Kashmiri Pandit leader, a Trade Unionist, a socio-political activist and a writer was organised by Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) here, today.
The function was chaired by B L Thusoo, convener of the conference. He highlighted the qualities of head and heart of Budgami and recalled his services to society as a whole. He said Budgami was the president of KHC and is an ardent speaker and a crusader of social justice and human values.
Raj Nath Raina a trade union and socio political activist highlighted role of Budgami for the cause of employees especially teachers struggle prior to mass exodus from Valley when he was the general secretary of All J&K Teachers Federation. Budgami also led the community struggle from the front after its mass exodus for their permanent rehabilitation and settlement.
He said Budgami has written various books on Kashmir and forced exodus of Kashmiri Pandits and their plight. He championed the cause of community on every platform to seek justice for it.
Speaking on the occasion, Budgami announced his retirement from the active KP politics owing to his health issues and expressed the hope that the community will continue its struggle with more vigour and dedication to achieve its cherished goal.
