MUMBAI, July 20: Rajya Sabha MP Gulam Ali Khatana today urged the Muslim community to join the national mainstream and play a positive role in India’s development.
He said the present era is “Amrit Kaal” for the country and called on Muslims to contribute towards a progressive and united India.
Speaking at a seminar on “Viksit Bharat and the Future of Muslims in India” organised by the Positive Thought Foundation at Islam Gymkhana, Khatana said Muslims have always been contributors to India’s growth and knowledge but need to reject the mindset of backwardness.
He questioned why the community was linked to backwardness in the last seventy years and asked people to move away from the feeling of victimhood and focus on progress, purpose, and national development.
Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of inclusive development, he said the Government believes in “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, aur Sabka Prayas.”
He also stressed on reviving values like justice, compassion, and civic duty practiced during the time of Prophet Muhammad.
The seminar was attended by scholars, youth, and civil society members.
Speakers highlighted the need for Muslim youth to focus on education, entrepreneurship, and active civic participation.
The event concluded with a pledge to work for communal harmony and national progress.
