JAMMU, May 17: BJP senior national leader, and former MP, Avinash Rai Khanna, visited the residences of three departed BJP stalwarts-former MP and ex president, Shamsher Singh Manhas, former MLC, Ramesh Arora, and former MLA, Devinder Singh Rana-to offer his heartfelt condolences to their grieved families.
During his visit, Khanna spent time with the bereaved families, offering prayers and support. He described the loss as deeply “personal” and said the party has lost towering figures whose contributions will forever remain etched in our history.
Avinash Rai Khanna recalled his long-standing association with Shamsher Singh Manhas and Ramesh Arora, reminiscing about their unwavering commitment to the party and its ideology. “Shamsher Singh Manhas was not just a colleague, he was a friend and a committed soldier of the BJP whose tireless work laid strong foundations for our growth in Jammu and Kashmir”, said Khanna.
He said that Ramesh Arora was a man of principles, deeply respected for his clarity of thought and dedication to public service.
About Devinder Singh Rana, Khanna praised his exceptional leadership skills and his friendly approach to the party activists and the people. His strategic vision and ability to connect with people from all walks of life marked him as a leader of great potential. His absence leaves a void that will be hard to fill, Khanna added.
Khanna noted that the untimely demise of these leaders is an irreparable loss to the BJP. The party has not only lost senior leaders, but guiding lights who mentored many and shaped our path forward. Their legacy will continue to inspire future generations of BJP workers and leaders.
He assured the families that the party stands firmly with them in hour of grief and will always honour the contributions of their loved ones.
