LEH, Sept 7:  In an impressive function held at Tashi Gatsal Choglamsar, Khamtak Rinpoche along with the monks from Hemis Monastery consecrated the newly constructed Padkar Drugaisling Monastery by holding day long prayer at the monastery site.
The monastery houses the statue of Guru Padmasambhava. The monastery was constructed by group of residents staying at Tashi-Gatsal Choglamsar on donations. On the occasion all donors and residents of Tashi-Gatsal were also present.
Skabje Khamtak Rinpoche, while congratulating the people on the occasion for constructing such monastery, said that being a Buddhist must have monasteries, a place to pray. He added that having monasteries don’t serves the purpose but there should have monk to offer prayer and he expressed his concern over shortage of monk in the society and appealed the parent to send one of their children to become monk or nun. Talking about different sectarian in the Buddhism, Khamtak Rinpoche said that people shouldn’t differentiate Buddhism on sectarian ground as all different sectarian are just like four pillars of a table and those trying to divide on sectarian ground actually doing it without understanding the true sense of Buddhist religion which is to benefit all sentient beings.
Scholar Khanchen Tsewang Rigzin, who was instrumental in constructing the monastery,   said that having monastery will benefit the residents as monk residing in the monastery will perform various religious activities of every household. He also expressed his hope that now onwards the monastery will become a happening place with frequent visit of devotees and various religious activities.
Young Drukpa Association (YDA) president Ngawang Rinchen Wacher informed that   Thuksey Rinpoche, who was supposed to attend the function, had to leave Nepal suddenly.
Earlier, welcoming the guests Druk Association Tashi-Gatsal president Sonam Tsering said that monastery was long cherished dream of the Tash-Gatsal residents. He also listed the names of donors for the monastery, who included former MP Hassan Khan (Rs.3 lakh), MP Thupstan Chhewang (Rs.3 lakh), MLA Nawang Rigzin Jora (Rs. 2 lakh), former MLC Norbo Gailson (Rs 1 lakh), former Area Councillor Tsering Sonam (Rs 50,000), beside Khanchen Tsewang Rigzin, Ama Spaldon, Dorjay Korzon (Rs 1 lakh each)
On the occasion, donors and all stakeholders were felicitated with saviours and Khataks. Later, a culture programme was also held.
