Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, May 26: All J&K Low Paid Employees Federation has warned  the heads of various departments not to change office timings during hot summer months in Jammu from 8 am to 2 pm to 10 am to 4 pm at their own.
Abdul Majid Khan, president  LPEF while referring to the letter written by the Divisional Commissioner Jammu to the Commissioner/ Secretary to Govt General Administration Department proposing change of office timings in Jammu region during summer months from 10 am to 4 pm instead of 8 am to 2 pm on utterly flimsy grounds,  made a strong plea to desist from taking such ill advised move which may cause lot of resentment among the employees.
The Federation chief said that age old practice of change in office timing from 8 am to 2 pm during hot summer months has been in vogue in accordance with the  climatic conditions prevailing in Jammu division.  There is lot of resentment among the employees and Govt must review its decision. He appealed all the employees bodies to come  forward and launch agitation if the Government  continued to impose its decision unilaterally.
