JAMMU, Mar 5: President of J&K BJP Minority Morcha, Ranjodh Singh Nalwa, today said that the crucial ropeway projects approved by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Central Government for Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib, will significantly ease the journey of devotees.
“The two projects, sanctioned at a combined cost of Rs 6,811 crore, are expected to significantly ease the journey of devotees and provide all weather connectivity to these holy shrines,” said Nalwa while welcoming approval of these mega projects by the Union Government.
The approval for these projects was announced today by Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw following the decisions of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA). Nalwa said the 12.4 km ropeway project for Hemkund Sahib will connect Govindghat to the revered shrine, reducing the current challenging 21-km uphill trek that pilgrims undertake on foot or by using ponies and palanquins.
He highlighted that the proposed ropeway is designed to provide all-weather last-mile connectivity, ensuring a safer and more comfortable journey for pilgrims visiting Hemkund Sahib as well as tourists heading to the Valley of Flowers. Similarly, the Kedarnath ropeway project is aimed at facilitating pilgrims by providing seamless all-weather connectivity between Sonprayag and Kedarnath.
Emphasizing the significance of these projects, Nalwa urged citizens to support Prime Minister Modi’s efforts to drive development across the nation.
