KCIS organizes inter-school music competition

JAMMU, Dec 23: KC International School hosted 12th inter-school music competition ‘Sur Sangam’ in which around 10 reputed schools of Jammu participated.
Rajinder Gupta, SSP Airport Authority of India was the chief guest on the occasion, while Dr. Usha Kher, DySP Anti-Hijacking, Airport Authority Jammu was the guest of honour.
Among the judges were Dharmesh Nargotra- noted Gazal singer and Jagdeep Singh, retired Programme Executive Doordarshan, Jammu and Virender Kapadia, Senior vocalist, song and drama division.
The categories for the competition were junior, senior and solo.
The programme started with the lighting of lamp followed by a welcome dance.
The students were well prepared for the competition.
The judges appreciated musical tone and texture of the students. The nuances of the music were also well followed by them.
In Junior Category, KC International School, Doon International School and Jammu Sanskriti School secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively, while in Senior Category, Doon International School won first place, KC International School clinched second spot and the third position was claimed by KC Public School.
In Solo Category, KC International School, Mt. Zee Litera School, Kathua and KC Guruklul Public School bagged the first three spots.
The musical day concluded with the vote of thanks by the Principal, Subendhu Sarkar, who lauded the efforts put in by the staff and the students of various schools.
