SRINAGAR, Dec 31: A seminar on bringing tourism sector under the preview of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) was organized today by the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCC&I) here today.
A KCC&I spokesman said that the seminar was attended by various dignitaries including President, KCC&I, Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad, Bilal Ahmad Bhat, Director, Industries & Commerce, Aijaz Ahmad, Assistant Director, Tourism Department and Afaq. T. Dar, Manager, Jammu & Kashmir Development Financial Corporation (JKDFC) besides office Bearers of KCC&I.
He said Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad while initiating the discussion laid down importance of registration of the tourism units under Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) for availing the benefits under the scheme while Bilal Ahmad Bhat, Director, Industries & Commerce highlighted the various benefits available to the Tourism units under MSME and assured hassle free registration on top priority without any hurdles.
“The Manager, JKDFC assured the participants of extending full cooperation to the business community and Assistant Director, Tourism Department and Members appreciated the KCC&I for organizing this interaction / Seminar with exclusive focus on the problems faced by the Tourism sector,” he said, adding, “Representatives from the Hotel Industry, Tour & Travel operators and House boat Owners also participated in the seminar.”
