JAMMU, Aug 18:  Hotel KC  Residency, near famous Raghunath Temple,  is organizing a food festival at its rooftop restaurant,  the ‘Terrace Skylounge’  from August 18 to 27 here.
The buffet spread will feature authentic delicacies prepared  and presented by Chef Kaushal Sharma  and his team of expert chefs.
During the food festival, guests will be able to taste modern and popular dishes from India, Siberia, Thailand, Veitnam and Chinese  provinces.  From Tandoori chicken to Amritsari Macchi, Roganjosh to Malai Kofta, crispy chicken with molten dry chilli to Hunan style steamed fish, Cantonese style smoked short ribs and many other culinary treats will be presented  to the guests at the Indo-Oriental buffet spread,  Hotel GM Rahul Janidal said.
He further disclosed that Oriental cuisine can actually refer to very different styles of Asian cooking depending upon the nation or the area. The Oriental section of Asia covers a huge chunk of estaern Asia known as Far East, and thus covers a wider range of culinary traditions. What might be called Oriental  cooking in one nation might be considered  something else in another nation.  Indo-Oriental food has long enjoyed its status as comfort food in both India  and amongst  the diaspora. Chilli-chicken, Hakka Noodles and Ghobi Manchurian, to name just a few can be found on many Indian restaurant menus  and as street card staples. However, these dishes are not simply products of fusion food  trends, rather, they are edible relics of India’s history of inhabitants  and food culture.
“Hotel KC  Residency is  currently experiencing an evolutionary period where we are continuously expanding our offerings. With comfort food from every cuisine stuffed with mélange of species  and distinct flavours, we try to ensure there is something for the entire family  which has come out to enjoy the meal,”  Jandial maintained.
