JAMMU, Sept 9: Apni Trade Union President, Ajaz Kazmi has sought amnesty scheme for the commercial consumers across Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement, Kazmi hailed the decision of the Government for taking initiative of amnesty scheme which has given a sigh of relief to the people in general.
He said that the Government should also announce similar amnesty for the commercial consumers like houseboat owners, hoteliers, industrial sector and other business houses as they were the worst sufferers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said that the people have suffered badly and the Government’s acknowledgement with the announcement of the amnesty for domestic consumers is widely being appreciated. However, it is being expected from the Government to consider the long pending demands of the commercial consumers in J&K who work and generate employment, he added.
“The amnesty should also be announced for the commercial consumers so that the business establishments which have gone into losses could be given some relief,” he said.
“Many people lost their jobs during the covid19 pandemic but the tourism and industrial sector tried to continue its activities despite all odds and supported the employees even after the losses”, he added.
