JAMMU, Oct 28: Apni Party Trade Union (APTU) president, Ajaz Kazmi has demanded regularization of the daily wagers in J&K.
In a handout Kazmi said that 61000 daily wagers have been working in different Government departments for the last 25 years and are yet to be regularized.
He said that the daily wagers work on very less wages and demanded the release of all pending dues of these daily wagers and implementation of Minimum Wage Act in J&K.
The APTU leader said that daily wagers shall be provided pay protection by the authorities concerned because they work with dedication and keep the departments functional even during odd hours.
He also demanded that the vacant posts shall be filled up by the Government in all the departments.
Kazmi expressed concern over the monopoly of mining mafia in Jammu which has snatched resources as well as employment from the local youth and demanded an end to the grabbing of resources by the mining mafia.
