JAMMU, May 21: Apni Trade Union (ATU) president Ajaz Kazmi expressed shock over tunnel collapse incident in Ramban and urged upon the administration to give ex-gratia relief to the next of kins of the deceased workers.
In a handout Kazmi expressed sympathy with the family members of deceased workers and said that the government should hold an investigation into the incident.
He said that role of the construction company involved in the widening work should also be investigated.
Kazmi also prayed for early recovery of the injured workers.
Prominent among those who participated in the meeting were provincial president ATU, Raj Kumar Sharma; vice president, Sheikh Abdul Latief; district president, Sunny Sambyal; provincial secretary Jammu, Mudassir Shah; provincial secretary, Daljit Singh; district secretary, Puran Chand and secretary provincial, Sanjay Kumar.
