Kavinder for greater public participation in developmental activities

JAMMU, July 3: Stressing the need for active participation of local populace in developmental process, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, today said public should take initiatives to associate with planning and developmental activities to ensure durable and purposeful assets as per the local needs.
The BJP leader was addressing a gathering after starting the work on up-gradation of lanes and drains of Dashmesh Nagar, Green Avenue, Akali Kour Singh Nagar in Ward 58, Digiana in Gandhi Nagar constituency in presence of MLC, Vikram Randhawa, Baldev Billowria and Councillor Tirath Kour. He said BJP is committed for the equitable development of the State and every worker should come forward with the projects related to development of their respective areas. He said opposition parties are directionless and people have taught them a lesson in the just concluded Parliament elections.
On the demand of locals from the area Gupta along with MLC Vikram Randhawa took stock of the facilities and issues being faced by the residents of the area. Gupta was apprised about the need to strengthen flood drains in the area including timely repairs, renovation and up-gradation, augmentation of drinking water supply to the locality in proportion to its population, and up-gradation of public health infrastructure.
Addressing the locals, Kavinder assured them that all their concerns will be taken up and resolved at the earliest. On the demand of public for additional transformer, Gupta said the same will be provided in 15 days to overcome the shortage of power supply.
Kavinder emphasized that the benefits of the Government’s welfare and developmental schemes should reach the grassroots level of the society and urged people to avail benefits of these schemes actively so that maximum numbers of beneficiaries are covered. With regard to the drinking water supply in the area, Kavinder assured that he will take up the demand through appropriate channels and work out modalities to augment water supply in the area.
Assuring the people of the Government’s commitment towards development, Kavinder said that dedicated manpower is continuously working to evaluate shortcomings in public infrastructure and simultaneously devising strategies to reinforce it for socio-economic development. Gupta also urged the public to be forthcoming with their concerns, issues and communicate the same to local representatives, so that an all inclusive equitable development can be ensured, that is transparent and accountable.
