JAMMU, June 28: Speaker State Assembly and MLA, Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta visited various localities of Channi Rama, Sainik Colony, Channi Himmat and Deeli and interacted with locals of the area.
The Speaker was accompanied by Executive Engineer, PHE, Ashok Sharma; Executive Engineer, PWD(R&B), Mohammad Abdullah; AEE, PHE, Rajesh Gandotra; AEE, PWD(R&B), Rafiq Sheikh, Balwant Singh, Dr. D B Singh, S. Balwant Singh, Er. Ashwani Khosla, Kulbir Charak, Ankit Gupta along with officers of JMC, ERA and Housing Department.
Speaker interacted with the locals at various localities and listened to their grievances. It was brought to his notice that few overhead tanks build during the NC-Congress regime are on the verge of collapsing or there is technical fault due to which they cannot be made operational and they be dismantle immediately. The guilty will be booked for their misdeeds and the enquiry will be initiated against the erring officers responsible for the loss to State exchequer, Mr Gupta assured the people.
Pressing on the urgent need to save this most valuable natural resource, Gupta directed the PHE officials to plug the leakage in the overhead tanks and pipes at the earliest so that this precious resource can be made available for the people and doesn’t get wasted. He appealed to the people not to waste this valuable gift of nature and use it judiciously.
He promised the people that new tube wells and OHTs will be build in Channi Himmat and Greater Kailash area to meet the requirement of the areas from Narwal to Greater Kailash. He further inspected the ongoing work of blacktopping in Gandhi Nagar Constituency and instructed the PWD(R&B) Department to maintain liaison with other departments so that the roads don’t get damaged due to the unfinished works of other Department.
