JAMMU, Feb 9: A special Kavi Sammelan was organized today by Rashtriya Kavi Sangam (RKS) J&K in collaboration with Gaytri Parivaar, Loharakote, Sunderbani (Rajouri) today to commemorate the birth anniversary of legendary Dogri lyricist Yash Sharma, known as Raj Kumar of Dogri lyrics.
Well known senior artist, writer & journalist Jang S Verman and Madan Mohan Sharma (retired ZEO) were the chief guests on this occasion whereas Arun Bhattacharaya from IIMA Jammu and Ashok Kumar (retired Banker) were the guests of honour. Squadron leader Anil Saigal presided over the programme. Renowned singer Seema Anil Saigal and Kartikey Saigal shared the dais.
Kewal Kumar Kewal (president, RKS) while presenting welcome address, said that RKS J&K has been conducting various programmes in the memory of late Yash Sharma. He added that the aim of RKS J&K has been to promote the local and upcoming talent by providing them platform at different places.
Sanjay Sharma, a representative of Gaytri Parivaar, said that Gaytri Parivar is committed to promote value based programmes and preserve value based system by organizing various such activities and other cultural programmes at various occasions.
The poets who presented their poetry in the programme included Vinod Kumar Sharma, Shruti Sharma, Sanjay Kumar Sharma, Ritika, Dharampal Sharma, Mohinder Pal, Kasturi Lal, O P Bhajwalia, Amarjeet Sharma, Dr Aradhana Sharma, Dr Anjana, Rajneesh Sharma, Rattan Bhardwaj, O P Shakir, Sandeep Singh Jamwal, Jang S Verman, Seema Anil Saigal and Kewal Kumar Kewal.
In his presidential address, Anil Saigal said that RKS J&K and Gaytri Parivar are doing a nice job by organizing such programmes dedicated the great contributors in the field of art & culture. Jang S Verman, Seema Anil Saigal, Arun Bhattacharya, Madan Mohan and Ashok Kumar also expressed their views.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Sandeep Singh Jamwal, general secretary, RKS J&K. The vote of thanks was extended by O P Sharma.
