KATHUA, Dec 12: Kathua police seized 16 grams of heroin (chitta) at Korepunnu area of Police Post (PP) Marheen and arrested one person and seized his motorbike.
Police said a team led by in charge PP Marheen under the supervision of SDPO Border and SHO PS Rajbagh laid down a routine naka/patrolling at Korepunnu area, and during naka checking they apprehended one suspect namely Liaqyat Ali alias Liaquatu son of Sharied Mohammed of Korepunnu tehsil, Marheen district Kathua who was found roaming under suspicious circumstances in Korepunnu area on his motorbike bearing Registration Number PB06AN-5377. On Physical search, 16 grams of heroine (chitta) was recovered from his illegal possession.
All the recovered narcotics along with vehicle was seized and one person was arrested on the spot. A case FIR No. 259/2024 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act stands registered at PS Rajbagh and further investigation is under process.
