KATHUA, Nov 19; Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, Mohita Sharma-, rescued eight bovines from NHW Lakhanpur area, arrested one person and seized one vehicle (Truck ) involved.
Police said on Tuesday its team of PS Lakhanpur led by SHO Police Station (PS) Lakhanpur Inspector, Tariq Ahmed under the guidance of Additionall SP, Kathua Rahul Charak and DySP DAR Kathua, Ritesh Samyal during naka/ checking NHW Lakhanpur area noticed the movement of one suspicious vehicle (Truck) bearing Registration Number, PB02EN-5298 which was being driven by a person namely Raj Masih, son of Romesh Masih of Kalanoor District Gurdaspur PB who was enrouted from Kathua towards Jammu was signalled to stop for checking.
During checking of the vehicle, eight bovines (seven cows and one Ox) were found loaded in the vehicle mercilessly which were rescued. The driver was arrested and one truck was seized on spot. A case has been registered at PS Lakhanpur vide FIR No. 141/2025 U/S 223/BNS, 11/PCA Act while further investigation into this matter has been set into motion.
