Kathua police rescues 5 bovines, seizes vehicle

KATHUA, Nov 15: Tightening the noose of bovine smugglers within the district, Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP Ms. Mohita Sharma rescued five bovines from NHW Hiranagar area, seized one vehicles involved.
Police said today a police team of Police Station (PS) Hiranagar led by SHO Hiranagar Inspector, Ashish Sharma under the guidance of SP Operations Kathua, Mukund Tibrewal and SDPO Border, Dheeraj Katoch during naka checking at National Highway, Hiranagar when they intercepted a vehicle coming from Punjab towards Kashmir.
During checking they said five bovines were found loaded in a cramped and cruel manner. The animals were rescued on the spot, and the vehicle was seized, police said.
A case has been registered at Police Station, Hiranagar under relevant sections in Connection with the incident and further investigation is going on.
