KATHUA, Jan 30: District Police Kathua once again succeeded in foiling two bovine smuggling bids and rescued 13 bovine animals in Rajbagh and Mareen area and arrested four bovine smugglers.
Acting on tip off, today in the wee hours, a team of Police Station Rajbagh led by Inspector Sarbjeet Andotra, SHO Police Station Rajbagh alongwith ASI Ram Chand under the direct supervision of Dy. SP Raghubir Singh, SDPO Border laid naka at NHW near DPS road and intercepted one truck bearing registration number JK04A 7154 carrying bovine animals which was on way from Punjab towards Jammu.
During checking of the vehicle, Police rescued 11 bovine animals being smuggled in the vehicle and also arrested two bovine smugglers namely Muzaffar Hussain S/o Mohd Rafiq R/o Sarthi Chanderkot Ramban and Parvez Ahmed S/o Bashir Ahmed R/o Khanpur Nagrota Jammu. A case FIR No 18/2018 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act stands registered at PS Rajbagh.
Meanwhile on a reliable information a team led by SI Vishal Kumar incharge Police Post Marheen laid naka at Hariachak area and intercepted one Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK08C-1833 carrying bovine animals which was on way from Punjab to Srinagar. During checking of the vehicle, Police rescued two bovine animals being smuggled in the said vehicle and also arrested two bovine smugglers namely Mushtaq Ahmed S/o Noor Alahi R/o R S Pura Jammu and Ghulam Nabi S/o Fazal ul Din R/o Gali Neera Ramban . A case FIR No 19/2018 U/S 188 RPC Act stands registered at PS Rajbagh. Police also seized both the vehicles.
The drive was carried out under the supervision of Sanjay Parihar, Additional SP Kathua and overall supervision of Mohd Suleman Choudhary, SSP Kathua.
