Kathua police rescues 10 bovines, seizes 2 vehicles

Kathua, Dec 9: Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal – today foiled bovine smuggling attempt in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Rajbagh, rescued 10 bovines and seized two vehicles involved in the smuggling of animals.
Police said a team led by Inspector, Amit Sangra, SHO, P S Rajbagh under the supervision of SDPO Border, Sachit Mahajan-during naka/checking duty in its jurisidictional area near NHW Moga Langar noticed a suspicious vehicle bearing Registration Number PB07BX-3253 which was being driven by unknown person.
During checking of the vehicle five bovines were found loaded in it illegally which were presumbaly being taken without any legal permission. Thereafter police team was able to rescue five bovines and seized the vehicle involved. By taking this cognizance case FIR Number 255/2021 U/S 188/IPC, 11PCA has been registered at Police Station, Rajbagh and further investigation has been set into motion accordingly.
While in another instance, a police team of Police Post Chadwal led by PSI, Rohit Manhas under the supervision of SDPO Border, Sachit Mahajan during naka checking duty at Seswan noticed the movement of suspicious vehicle (Mahindra ) bearing Registration Number JK08F-9028 which was also being driven by unknown person. During checking five more bovines were found in it which were tied with ropes in mercilessly manner. All the five bovines were rescued and vehicle involved was seized. A case vide FIR No. 256/2021 U/S 188/IPC, 11PCA Act has been registered at PS Rajbagh. Thus overall 10 bovines were rescued and both the vehicles involved in commission of the crime were seized while further investigation is underway.
