KATHUA, July 30:- J&K police Kathua, today destroyed a massive consignment of drugs weighing approximately 20 Quintals (Narcotics/Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) worth approximately Rs 40 crore at Anmol Healthcare in Rara, under Police Station (PS), Ramgarh in Samba district.
Police said the destroyed narcotics include capsules, ganja, poppy straw, charas, corex and heroine (chitta 10.505 Kg) etc. The destruction was carried out by a police team led by SSP Kathua, Shobhit Saksena with approval of competent authority. Accompanied by Additional SP Kathua, Rahul Charak, Senior PO DPO Kathua, Munish Kumar and DySP Hqrs Kathua, Ravinder Singh, DySP DAR Kathua, Ritesh Sambyal, DySP CID, Arvind Kumar, Inspector, Sadaqat Hussain incharge PS Anti Narcotics Task Force Jammu along with Munish Verma , Naib Tehsildar (EMIC), Pollution Control & Municipal Council Kathua team, the narcotics were destroyed following proper incineration procedure.
These consignments were caught by J&K Police Kathua in different NDPS cases for which 120 FIRs were registered within Kathua district and kept in various stores (Malkhana).The destruction was done through incineration at earmarked/ approved location at Anmol Healthcare at Rara area in the jurisdiction of PS Ramgarh after following all legal requirements as per law as well as with the approval of Competent Authority.
Moreover, SSP Kathua further said that in future J&K police Kathua will continue this anti drug campaign and will destroy the narcotics in this way.
