Kathua police arrests drug peddler, seizes 90.23 grams of heroin

KATHUA, Nov 13: In its drive against the drugs and its propagators, J&K Police Kathua under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, Mohita Sharma today seized 90.23 grams of heroin (Chitta) like narcotics and arrested one drug peddler at Korepunnu area in the jurisdiction of Police Statiaon (PS) Rajbagh.
Police said its team led by SHO PS, Rajbagh, Inspector, Ajay Singh Chib under the guidance of SP Operations, Kathua Mukund Tibrewal and SDPO Border, Dheeraj Katoch laid Naka in its jurisdictional area at Korepunnu and apprehended one suspect enrouted under suspicious circumstances last night.
During enquiry, he disclosed his name as Liaqat Ali, son of Jamal Din of Kullian tehsil and district Kathua. During checking, 90.23 grams of Heroine (Chitta) was recovered from his possession.
In this regard a Case FIR No. 220/2025 U/S 8/21/22/NDPS Act was registered at PS Rajbagh and further investigation in the case is going on.
Kathua police again appealed the people of the area to come forward and share information about any such illicit activity with it.
