Inter-state robbery gang busted

KATHUA, Mar 30: Kathua police in a major breakthrough succeeded in solving two sensational robbery cases which took place recently at a shop in Parliwand area in Kathua town and Petrol Pump in Chadwal area in which gang of Inter-State robbers looted money on gun point and injuring the owner of the shop and employees at petrol pump.
SSP, Kathua Sridhar Patil said the incident at Parliawand area near Old Bus Stand took place on February 8 this year in which three unknown burglars robbed a shop in late evening, looted the money on gun point and injured the owner of the shop Manohar Lal Gupta, S/o Shalli Ram R/o Ward No. 15, Patel Nagar Kathua and fled away from the spot on a motorbike. Police registered a case FIR No 42/2019 under section 392, 34 RPC,3/4/25 Arms Act at Police Station Kathua and started investigation.

In another robbery case at Shaheed Sardool Service Station Chadwal on March 24, gang of notorious robbers looted money with same modus operandi, injuring two employees namely Hans Raj, S/o Ashro, R/o Mahanpur Kathua and Prakash Singh, S/o Munshi Ram R/o Gujroo Nagrota Ramkote after firing on them and escaped from the spot, police said. A case under FIR 47/2019 U/S 392/397/307 RPC, 3/4/25 Arms Act was registered at Police Station, Rajbagh in this regard, police informed.
Based on specific information and investigation team headed by Ravinder Singh, SDPO Border along with Inspector, Manjeet Singh SHO, PS Rajbagh today succeeded in arresting the notorious criminal from Badholi area in Hiranagar namely Balbir Singh @ Pamma S/o Yog Raj Singh R/o Dinanagar, Punjab A/P Bamiyal Punjab. Police also recovered one pistol with 5 rounds from his possession.
Accused during questioning admitted his involvement in both the robberies. Investigation further revealed that accused Pamma is prime accused in murder case and other heinous crimes and wanted in case FIR No. 66/2014 U/S, 302,147,148,149 RPC, 3/4/25 Arms Act of Police Station R.S.Pura Jammu and FIR No. 203/2018 U/S 382/341/201 RPCof Police Station Samba and many cases of State of Punjab and Himachal Pardesh.
In the follow up action Police also arrested two notorious criminals in robbery cases namely Rakesh Kumar@ Tony, S/o Gagi Ram R/o Prangoli Dingamb Hiranagar Kathua and Vishal Verma, S/o Krishan Dutt, R/o Mangloor Dungaamb Hiranagar Kathua.
Kathua police has requested the people having knowledge about these incidents to come forward for giving valuable information to ensure conviction of accused.
