JAMMU, July 12: Kashmiri migrants held a protest demonstration in front of Relief Organization is support of their various demands.
The demonstration was organized by Displaced Front of KPs led by Satish Pajnoo and it was supported by migrant Cell BJP led by T N Bhat.
The protestors with pla cards in their hands were raising slogans in support of their long pending demands and were protesting against the callous attitude of Government towards them.
The protestors ,while highlighting their demands stressed on enhancement of cash relief, action against corrupt officials, one job to every migrant family, compensation to the displaced farmers, orchardists, traders, for the losses suffered by them, renovation of damaged temples and shrines in Valley, restoration of land from land grabbers and anti social elements, updating of electoral rolls, doing away of M Forms, grant of backward status to KPs belonging to backward areas of Valley, grant of one time compensation to the overaged youth so that they can start their own business as these people are worst victims of exodus.
They also demanded immediate reshuffle in relief organization by transferring the employees having a stay of over five years and sought immediate intervention of the Chief Minister in the matter.
The demonstration was also addressed by Sheela Handoo BJP leader and former corporator. She also expressed concern over increasing power cuts and took the PDD to task for not maintaining power supply in the areas which have been fully metered.
Mr Pajnoo in his address stressed on unity in the community.
