Kashmiri girl, forced into sex trade, rescued in Pune: Police

PUNE, May 9:  Social security cell of Pune police crime branch has rescued a 23-year-old Kashmiri girl, who was allegedly forced into prostitution, police said today.

Police also arrested an alleged sex racketeer Amar Govind Iingle, (23) of Latur.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided an apartment in Fort Lisa, Kalyani Nagar and rescued the girl yesterday.

Iingle is believed to be an agent. A search was on to nab kingpin of the racket Nisar Chand Shaikh, police said.

The girl came in contact with Iingle through a friend in Kashmir. She first came to Mumbai with her friend and the racketeer lured her to Pune a month ago on a promise to give her Rs 2 lakh. The racketeer got customers through escort service advertisements in newspapers, senior inspector Bhanupratap Barge said.
