SRINAGAR: The weekly Karvan-e-Aman bus, operational between Srinagar-and Muzaffarabad, capital of Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK), has been cancelled on Monday owing to birth anniversary of Pakistan’s founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
The peace bus has been cancelled due to a function on other side of the Line of Control (LoC), official sources said.
He said a message was received from PoK that bus could not operate in view of Jinnah’s birthday.
However, the passengers who were scheduled to travel today will be accommodated next week.
The bus, one of the major Confidence Building Measures (CBM), by India and Pakistan in 2005, has helped thousands of families divided in 1947 meet each other.
However, only state subjects from both the sides are eligible to travel in the peace bus after the approval from intelligence agencies from both sides. (agencies)
